EDITORIAL WRITING
For over fifteen years, I’ve written food and lifestyle stories for print and digital publications including Sunset, Wine & Spirits, Civil Eats and Fodor’s Travel Publications. I currently report on restaurants, food producers and hotels/resorts for 1859 Magazine and other outlets. I also cover artists, art museums and non-profits with an environmental focus for 1889 Magazine.
Many of my stories have a Pacific Northwest bent and when I’m not writing, I’m out exploring the many wonders of this region. Whether that’s our distinct merroir and meeting with oyster farmers and fishers or boarding a four-seat Cessna to unwind at a remote river retreat in the sprawling Eagle Cap Wilderness. (Read that story here).
I most frequently write about the people and places behind what we eat and drink with a healthy dose of travel-related features mixed in. I pursue topics I’m curious about and I’m especially drawn to opportunities to learn something new. In Oregon, there’s always something new and fascinating to discover, whether that’s a cutting edge seaweed farm or inspiring scientists researching the state’s kelp forests. (Two favorite stories I pursued in recent years). Read on for samples of my published clips.
BRAND STORYTELLING
In addition to editorial writing, I work with brands and organizations on a range of copywriting projects from guide books and advertorials to newsletters and social media content.
