Went to @palswithus for the legendary kettle-crusted trout sandwich and got distracted by the largest, most enchanting maze of riverbank lupine and the movie set marina.

This nostalgic spot set on the banks of the Columbia River is prime for summer nights—but I’d head there now to catch this wondrous swath of purple blooms!

Pacific City’s legendary dory boats have been launching straight through the surf since the early 1900s, keeping alive one of the last beach-launch fishing traditions in the world.

Built tough for the Oregon coast, these iconic boats haul in fresh Dungeness crab and big catches while riding massive waves.

For adventurous travelers, it’s dory season again. You can join a dory charter (this one was with Captain Joe @haystackfishing) or buy fresh, dory-caught fish or crab from seafood markets along the coast. 🐟🐟🐟
